D'Feeting ALS... One Step At A Time

On October 21th, 06, "The Fighting
Italians" participated in their 1st 5K Walk- also know as "D'feet ALS Walk" to
help support the Orange County chapter of the ALS Society.
This all started when Sergio's baby sister, Tina, thought it would be a good idea for a few of the family members to participate to give a little back to the ALS Society who have been so very good to Sergio in the recent past.
A letter from Sergio's nephew (Tina's son), Brandon, was sent out to people asking them to help out with a donation to the cause.

So on a lovely October morning, most of the family members and a couple of dear friends tied up their sneakers and headed to Mason Regional Park in Irvine, CA. dressed in their 2nd place award winning t-shirts and walked 5K around a beautiful pond.
The feeling of over 1200 people coming together and trying to make a difference in the lives of those affected by this ugly disease was just overwhelming. Most if not everyone there knew and loved someone who has or had ALS and wanted to make someone else's life a little better one step at a time.
In 2006, "The Fighting Italians" raised over $800 for ALS and we have big plans for the October 21st, 2007 walk.. raising a lot more money and having a larger group of friends and family joining us in the walk.
Where was Sergio and his family during this time??? At an out of town soccer tournament, of course!!!

Be a part of the "Fighting Italians" 5K walking team? You can either join us on October 20, 2007 and enjoy some fresh air, be among some wonderful people, get a little exercise and help all those affected with this ugly disease by being a real live walker.
