Lots Happening 'Round Here!

Kelly's seizures keep her close to home.
In the past few months, Kelly has had a few more seizures which has landed her home for an extended time. Unable to operate a vehicle, she has been forced to put working off for the time being. This is hard for her because she truly enjoys her job as a dental assistant but her health issue are to be tended to right now and work has to take a back seat. Because of all this, it has allowed her to be home to help tend to Sergio and the kids more while trying to take a little more care of herself. At the moment, she is undergoing lots of medical testing to find out what is causing her to have these seizures. Hopefully, the doctors will find out what is the cause and will be able to help her so that she can be 100% again. But in the meantime, this time with Sergio and kids is very important to the whole family. Pray that Kelly is on the road to a healthier path very soon.

Coach Sergio and his girls
From his wheelchair and with the help of his assistant coaches, Donna Tice (we call her "Hot Donna") and Sergio's son, Frankie, ("Coach"), the Girls U16 Soccer Team- aka. "Yellow" has had a terrific season. Even though the girls may not have been on the winning side of the score, every girl went out each and every game giving it their all for the team and their coaches. The team did manage to take 4th place in the league.
This year was a true test of strength for both coaches and players. The girls learned to take direction from Sergio who was able to communicate through both Donna and Frankie as well as his Dynavox. The girls would listen very carefully to Sergio as he directed the girls like he always had in the past. Sergio had to learn to let the girls take commands without having to repeat himself (which is something most coaches do a lot!). And with that, Sergio saw many of the players go from good player to great leaders of the team.
For most all the girls, it was the best season for them because of the closeness that the team has become over the past few months.
