Alyssa graduates with her
CNA Certificate.
Last year, Alyssa set
out to become a nurse. Yes, she had a lot of hands on experience right
at home in helping to take care of her dad these past few years but she
wanted to get the formal training and start a career in nursing in hopes
of helping others as those who have her dad.
We happy and proud to
announce that Alyssa had completed the course and graduated with her CNA
(Certified Nurse's Assistant) certificate. And it didn't take long for
her to put her skills to work and get a job as a in-home nurse's
caretaker. Her hours are very late in the evening until the morning but
she is loving her new job.
And she just started a
new program at school to get her LVN (License Vocation Nurse)
certificate. Her goal is to eventually become an RN (Registered Nurse)-
one step at a time. But for this gal- helping others is what she
feels is right for her. You know her dad/ mom/ brother and the whole
DeLuca family is very proud of her!!!

Just because he has ALS
doesn't mean Sergio can't party!!!!
"It's not what you can't do
but what you can do that counts." Not sure who that quote is from but
just because Sergio is in a wheelchair and communication is difficult
doesn't meant that Sergio isn't going to enjoy himself at a party!
One
of Sergio's favorite former soccer players, Rachel Tice, graduated in
June as one of the Valedictorian of Santiago High School. Sergio and the
family were invited to the backyard celebration. He made
it known that he was going to be there for Rachel and the Tice family!
It was a wonderful event and Sergio had a great time. Congrats to
Rachel!
Here is a photo of two of Sergio's dear
friends, Cathy Rude
and
Donna Tice (Rachel's Mom) at the party. Sergio loves having his picture
taken with his friends... BTW- Did you notice the t-shirt he is wearing.
Sergio's beloved Lakers won the NBA Championship. And Sergio wore his
shirt with great pride- A great week of celebrations- Rachel's
graduation and Lakers Championship.

Sergio likes to check out the pictures
that baby-sis, Tina took at the party. And there are always a lot of
pictures taken....

this year. We need everyone to sign up and walk with us. Can't make the
walk but still want to be counted? You can be a Virtual Walker- just ask
us how. Tina will be the captain this year.
Check out the ALS
