Sergio, the Matchmaker????
Dina,
(Sergio's niece) has been dating Brandon Bjornlie, for about a year now
and he was ready to "pop the question" but needed some very special help
from Sergio to do it in and extra special way. So, at a family pool
party at Dina's parents house, Brandon asked Sergio to type in the
words-
"Dina, Will you marry Brandon?"
on his Dynavox and put the speaker on so all in
attendance (which
was most of the De Luca families and some friends) could hear. Well, of
course she said YES and there were kisses all around. What a wonderful
way to share the love!!!!

A Very Special Gift from
Miles LaFosse
In July of 07, Miles La Fosse (son of Sergio's friends, Chris and Heather La Fosse) was lucky enough to attend the weeklong David Beckham Soccer Academy. At the end of the week, the campers were promised to have a few minutes with the international soccer legend and have one item signed by David Beckham himself.
Miles wanted to have his jersey signed by Beckham but thought that it
would be great if he could get Beckham to sign just one extra special
item
for his buddy who has ALS. So, Miles "snuck" a Sharpie pen and a "Never
Give Up" red wristband up and under his jersey sleeve. After Beckham was
done talking with the kids, having a group picture taken with them, and
signing their one item, Miles walked up to David and asked him if
he would please sign a special wristband for his friend who loves soccer
and has ALS. David was so taken by Miles thoughtfulness that he happily
signed the wristband and gave Miles a big hug.
Miles dad, Chris, caught all the action on video. Then at one of the family pool parties at sister, Lucy's house, Chris showed Sergio the video and at the end, Miles presented Sergio with the "Very Special Gift". It was a very touching moment and Sergio was so proud of his new wristband and of his little buddy.

Family and Friends always Welcomed!
Throughout the Summer of 07, big sis's (Lucy) house is where you could
find most of the
De Luca family along with a tapestry of old and new friends.
Hanging
around the pool and eating BBQ was a great way to spend weekends.
Along with friends like the La Fosse family and Roland Salazar and his
family, Sergio was able to reconnect with a very dear old neighborhood
friend who he hasn't seen in a very long time. Gerhardt (Gary) Bamsch and Sergio were
childhood buddies for many, many years. It was just a few months ago
that these two old pals reconnected and are now enjoying spending time
and catching up with each other.
