What can I do to help?
You can help in many
ways....
keep on fighting....
First and foremost- say a pray. Pray for Sergio and Kelly and Alyssa and Frankie. Put Sergio and the family on your church's pray list. Pray for those who are Sergio's army of medical care staff who so deeply care for Sergio. Pray for researchers to find a cure very, very soon. And pray for those who are affected by ALS.
Secondly, Keep checking back with this website and other sites listed. Keep informed with updates and hopefully, new breakthroughs. Support those organizations who work so hard to help those in need.
Thirdly....Keep in contact with Sergio and the families. Let us know that you are thinking of Sergio. Family and friends have always been important- more so even now. Use the phone, use the US mail, use the email addresses below- JUST KEEP IN TOUCH. Hearing from you is always such a special blessing.
And lastly....
The loss of income to the family and the horrendous cost of doctor’s treatments, special vitamins and special organic foods are taking a toll on him. His family and friends have been generous with their time and finances by helping with his rising expenses but it won’t be long when such things will sure start to take a toll on everyone.
Folks, this course of action will continue for many years. The goal is to keep him from getting worse and slow the progression down as much as possible. It is a very expensive and insurance won't pay for any of his treatments. Since ALS is not curable, our doctors in the United States just throw up their hands and give you a death sentence. Alternative medicine is the only way to keep this in control. It won't cure Sergio but hopes are that it will give him a longer life so that he can be a vital part of his family, see his kids graduate from high school, college, and get married and continue to be in his family’s lives.
Everyone says what can we do? He is too proud to say “I need help financially” so please if you can help by sending any amount it will be greatly appreciated.
